  • 1.  PAW - Expand functionality without cube view borders on select

    Posted Wed January 19, 2022 11:13 AM
    Hi,

Is it possible to somehow trigger Expand functionality (which maximizes the size of cube view to take up whole book canvas) of cube views/visualizations with Show selected border in preview option disabled?

I can't find Expand button anywhere else apart from the top right corner of the box that appears when clicking on cube view/visualization and in my opinion it would be very useful to have that option regardless of Show selected border in preview being enabled or not.

    Thanks,

    Hi Maciej,
I tried your scenario and it looks like a defect to me, so I'm looging it and expect it to be fixed soon.
Thank you for this detailed scenario,

    Best Regards,
    Svetlana

    Maciej,
Is the Edit mode an issue for your workflow? In the Edit mode the expansion of the cube viewer is working with no border enabled.

This is why we don't disable the border by default on the cube viewer widget type as we understand the importance of the functionality. We do disable the border on other widgets by default, i.e.  text widgets.

Let us know if working in Edit mode and expand the cube viewer is the solution for you,
    Best Regards,

    Hi Svetlana,

Thank you for a quick response.
I'm aware of the fact that the selection borders with Expand button appear always when in Edit mode.
What I'm looking for is a way to have the Expand functionality in normal (non-edit) mode without enabling Show selected border in preview .
Ideally as a another button in toolbar.

In other words, I would like to give my users an option to use Expand functionality (which is a fantastic functionality), without having to go to Edit mode, and not have the borders appear when clicking on a cube view or visualization (which in some cases doesn't look good).

Hope that makes it clear and if not I can provide more details.

    Thanks,

    Hi Maciej,
    Yes - no way to use the expand with no borders in non-edit mode yet;
that would be a different feature (no argue it's usefull for the cube viewer presenting data for users to contribute or to analyze).

Please log this idea on AHA site, we'd keep it for priority ranking.
