  • 1.  Drill-Through Report Fails - No Error, Just Cognos Connection Home

    Posted Fri March 13, 2020 03:13 PM
Hello - I'm running CA 11.0.13.1 (LTS) and having some strange failures on report drill-throughs that have worked flawlessly for months.
The main report runs fine. The drill-through is clicked and a new Browser tab opens. Sometimes the drill target report runs fine, but other times the user gets the Cognos Connection Home Page. No error message is displayed. This failure happens a little less than half the time (7 failures out of 20 test runs).
The environment has four servers in a cluster with a Dispatcher process on each.
Working with system and Cognos admins, we have tested individual servers, individual dispatchers, restarting the whole environment and more.  Nothing seems to resolve the issue.
We have multiple environments and this doesn't occur in DEV or Production, just the UAT environment.
Configurations for all three appear to be identical.
Any ideas for what might cause this, or what else to try?

    Thanks in advance.

When report doesn't come up, does its run get logged in Audit Database? if so, you can check  logs to see which server it ran on and remove it to test again.

You  can check with cmpls.txt is same on all servers. Also, You can try to run reports from different browsers to see if it's browser recent updates related.

Thank you for the reply, @Buddhi Gupta.
The report failures are not logged in the Audit Database. Successful runs are logged.
cmpls.txt is identical in all servers.
I've been testing in IE and Chrome equally and find no difference - both will run and both will fail periodically.
