    Hi,

    In one table I have key1 key2

    key1  45  key2 90
    key1  37  key2 22

    table 2 has attributes

    key1  45  key2 90    ak1 XP a1  SB   ak2          a2
    key1  45  key2 90    ak1      a1          ak2 PR    a2  WD
    key1  29  key2 89

What I want to do is to have the data from table 1 with the key1 and key 2, match the key1 and key2 in the second table. Once that is done, I want to print attribute keys and attributes all on one line. So in the example above, I have key1 37 which doesn't have a record in table 2. I want to print the table one record key1 and key2 but leave the rest blank. I want to not print key1 29 key2 89.
For the key1 45 key2 90 record, I want to see ONE output line having
    key1 29 key2 89 ak1 XP a1 SB ak2 PR a2 WD.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Vic,

Attached is a spreadsheet file with the data and a document with instructions on how to achieve the results that you're after.
I used Cognos Analytics 11.1.4. In previous versions you should be able to do the same. You can also upload the spreadsheet, create a simple data module and then create a report on that data module. It should achieve the same result.

    Hi.

This data is actually in a table. We have the one table. Would I need to create a 2nd table to get this result?

    Hi Vic,
The data can be in tables. From the problem statement I was under the impression that you were dealing with two tables.
If it is a single table, I'm not sure how to picture that table is defined.
May be you can simulate it in a spreadsheet and I'll have a better idea on how to suggest a solution.
