  • 1.  PAX Recalculate Book Causes #VALUE!

In PAX, I've built a custom report. When I select "Recalculate Book" for a refresh, it errors out my DBRW formulas, but there are no errors on the dimension formulas (SUBNMs). Any idea if this is a PAX version bug or how to fix?

Review how your TM1RptRow and tm1View formulas.

Sorry I'm still new with Cognos Planning Analytics. Where would I find the TM1RptRow and TM1View formulas?? In Architect? Or still in PAX?

If your report is a DYNAMIC report (rows drill up and down), then from PAx (PAfe), do a search for TM1RPTROW and TM1RPTVIEW.  The View statement is usually hidden towards the top of the sheet.  The RptRow statement is the first row/left column of your data results.  If you want to upload your report I can take a look and see if I spot anything that might be helpful.  Or you can email me at AMILLER@QUEBIT.COM

    Tarissa,

The #VALUE could be for a myriad of reasons.  Typically it's because one of the elements from one of the SUBNM's is invalid, no longer exists or misspelled.  If the SUBNM's are working and the DBRW's are now AND they are both using the same server name then I would check to see if there is a problem with the Cube portion of the DBRW formula.

There is also a free tool we at QueBIT developed to help Audit PAfE (PAx) reports.  This tool will help you understand why the formula is failing.  There's more information on the Accelerator hub here: https://community.ibm.com/accelerators/catalog/content/QueBIT-Print-Reports-for-PAfE

Another great place to start is to pick one of the formulas that says #value and hit the fx button on Excel's formula bar to launch the Excel formula wizard.
Do all the evaluated arguments look correct? (are any blank, or errors?)

PA for Excel has error logging you can switch on (it's in the options screen from our ribbon), if you do that, and then execute your test - failure details will be logged to a file.
