Just my 2c:
We've used puppet (not salt) to deploy 90+ servers for a client not long ago, nice to build in the capability to roll out fix packs and manage all the configuration centrally (had to as a part of the upgrade as we were getting IFs along the way).
The main idea was to parametrise silent installs to the hilt, generating all configuration (cogstartup, service files, installation answers) files based on the environment definition. It was all RHEL, so a bit easier than windows. Our main challenges were around getting a 'stable' base image with the same packages etc and hardware (surprisingly).
Salt should be quite similar in terms of approach.

Subject: Is anybody using "Salt stack" to deploy/upgrade Planning Analytics ?
Hello,
As said in the message subject, we're planning to use Salt to upgrade our Planning Analytics environment: Planning Analytics Workspace, Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel & PAL (TM1 server).
Does anybody have some experience on this ?
Thanks.
