I agree with you, I've been playing around with #tm1py and can really see the potential here.
Just recently I was working on a process where I wanted to extracte data to a text file through a series of sub-processes. However as there's no way to append to an existing text file (it gets overwritten), I had to introduce convoluted logic to pass the data back through a global variable to a different process which wrote the file. Stuff like that is much easier in python.
