    Dear all,

    Appreciate your expert advice.

I'm on a IBM Cloud PA environment.

I' have developed a lot of PAW workbooks and also some Applications and Plans, I'm trying to migrate all the developed objects between DEV and PRD environments, but I can't see any option to migrate Applications and Plans objects.

    Lifecycle management

Do I need to recreate all the Applications and Plans objects on PRD environment?

    Thanks,

We raised this with IBM a while back, as you can't backup or migrate applications (using migration tool) when running in a local environment either. The only way to include applications is to perform a full powershell based backup and restore from one environment to another, which is just absurd.

Hopefully, IBM will sort this out very quickly... please!

    Hi Rodrigo

Yes, I'm afraid Ian is right - I can't see any way to migrate these objects either.

Perhaps you could ask IBM to do a complete copy of the PAW object database as a once-off.

    Hi All,

LCM for Applications and Plans is currently under development.  We expect to have this capability in Planning Analytics Workspace later this year.  I can provide some insight into how the Applications and Plans LCM feature is going to work.

1 - Books and views being referenced by the Application or Plan will also be migrated
2 - The state of the Applications or Plans will not be migrated.  This includes the announcements, submission state, and submission comments.  We might consider a later enhancement to include this state data.  Migration of an Application or Plan with LCM will basically reset the Application or Plan.
3 - Groups being referenced by the Application or Plan will not be migrated.  However, if groups with the same name as the groups being referenced by the Application or Plan already exist in the environment you are deploying into, then the steps in the Application or Plan will reference that group after deployment.  The membership of the groups does not need to be the same between the source environment and the environment you are deploying into.
4 - Applications and Plans, and the books and views referenced in the steps, will be deployed directly to the Shared folder.  We will look at allowing the same for LCM for books and views that are not used in an Application or Plan.
