    Hi Everyone,

    We are working with alternate hierarchies in our PA model.

    While working with hierarchies we got to understand that currently available function don't allow the use of subsets created under alternate hierarchies with views.
    ViewSubsetAssign( «CubeName», «ViewName», «DimName», «SubsetName» )  which eventually assigns the subset under default hierarchy only with the view. This limits the use of alternate hierarchies for reporting purposes only.

    Is there a way we can use alternate hierarchies while using views or is there any update in pipeline in near feature we can expect this change.

    Hi,

    The "traditional" views don't allow for alternate hierarchies as you have highlighted.
    But you can use them within MDX views, which can be used in PAW, PAX and as a TI datasource.

    Hi Sumit,
    This document has very useful point on multiple hierarchy approach: Hierarchies: Guidelines and Proven Practices.
    The hierarchy functions should be explicitly used in order to avoid confusion between the objects.
