Hi,
I don't know if this functionality is technically possible to develop in Workspace but it would be great being able to reference the selected element from a selection widget (when it's dragged outside the cube viewer) in a MDX statement in the same tab/book.
Example:
A book contains a selection widget for the organization dimension which has a hierarchy with several levels.
The book also contains two exploration widgets from different cubes, both having the organization dimension in the rows.
A user selects a consolidation in the selection widget.
Both exploration widgets should show the children of the selected consolidation.
-> This is currently possible by adding a button, storing the selection in a cube and referencing it in the MDX statement. However it comes with some downsides (
PAW subset default behaviour).
-> Preferred functionality would be to reference the (user-specific) selection in MDX on the fly like this: {[Organization].[<selected element from selection widget>].children}
I also want to share my personal list of missing functionality making me struggle to meet the clients requirements / expectations:
- The cube viewer not being responsive
- Lack of formatting capabilities in the cube viewer
- The black widget borders
- Not being able to reference selected element from selection widget in MDX on the fly, without storing the selection in a cube
- Not being able to create custom TI error messages
- The need to administrate users both in Workspace and the TM1 server
When I am interpreting the public roadmap correctly, most of the points I listed are included with planned delivery in Q4 2021 / Q2 2022 which is great. I am just not sure about the MDX and selection widget question I asked above.
Thanks,
Mario
