  • 1.  Is there a TM1 Turbo-integrator guide that refers to scripting rather than the client interface?

Since advanced tabs are not available in the Process Editor in the PAW interface (at least for our instance), I am resorting to use scripts.

The challenge with the documentation is that there is a TM1 TurboIntegrator guide, which walks you through the process of understanding TI, step-by-step.

This is great, except that the references are all to this tabbed client interface. This makes it challenging to figure out how to translate that to the scripting language, where one can directly create the scripts concerned and run them.

We need a version of the TM1 TurboIntegrator guide that goes through the same process and steps, but explains how to do so using directly written scripts.

    Is there one?

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_ref.2.0.0.doc/c_tm1turbointegratorfunctions_n70006.html

The Ti function guide is probably where you want to start.  The Ti editor in Workspace does not have tabs, but the Prolog, Metadata, Data, and Epilog sections of your Ti processes are all there on different sections on the same tab.  There are a lot of improvements to the Ti editor in Workspace over Architect such as automatic colour coding, code completion (CTRL-SPACE), and built in descriptions of the Ti functions.  A lot more work is being done in this area.

    Hi Stuart,

Good to know that the Ti editor in Workspace does offer some enhancements over the client. It gives us an incentive to work with it.

I was aware of that list of functions and have gone through them individually.

Unfortunately, it does not walk us through the most common scenarios the way the TM1 Turbointegrator guide does (see link below).

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SS9RXT_10.2.2/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_turb.10.2.2.doc/c_editingadvancedproceduresandchores_nc5009.html#EditingAdvancedProceduresandChores_NC5009

The guide above only makes references to the client tool.

It would be nice to have a pure scripting version of this particular guide available.

Maybe, once I have figured things out, I will write one out :)

    Best,
    Shubho

There's a newer version of that document: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_turb.2.0.0.doc/c_editingadvancedproceduresandchores_nc5009.html

And the TM1 TurboIntegrator guide also exists here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_turb.2.0.0.doc/tm1_turbointegrator.html
