  • 1.  Cannot access tm1web with new installation

    Hi,

My problem is exactly as described here:

Cannot access tm1web with new installation (ibm.com)

And I did exactly as recommended. But still can't get tm1web to load.

What other config should I change?

    TIA!

Can you check whether port is open?
How you installed tm1 server component and web component?

    Hi,

Port is open. I can go to http://<webtier>:9510/pmpsvc just fine.

Installed data and web tier+rich tier on 2 separate servers.

Actually, when I got to the TM1 Applications Configuration, I got an error with the TM1 Application Web URI (http://<webtier>:9510/tm1web/Contributor.jsp)

"The client URI could not be reached. Do you want to use this value?"

What could be missing in my install?

    TIA!

    Hi Frederic,

    Which bootstrap file?

    All services are running.

    I don't use SSL.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

You might want to check out this link: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_inst.2.0.0.doc/t_tm1web_pmpsvc_config.html

In the latest releases of Planning Analytics, TM1Web has been separated from the "IBM Cognos Tm1" Web Tier Windows service into a new Windows service called "IBM Planning Analytics Spreadsheet Services", PASS, and there could be a port issue. The new service is just TM1Web and the old service retains all the rest of the "other" old Web Tier stuff. Both services want to use port 9510, but if "IBM Cognos TM1" is running, it usually prevents "IBM Planning Analytics Spreadsheet Services" from getting the port. When the latest TM1Web is installed, it actually sets the "IBM Cognos TM1" web service to start-up type "manual", but I don't think it stops it unless you manually stop it or reboot. The new TM1 Web just installs next to it.

The link above suggests setting TM1Web to 9511 if you still need "IBM Cognos TM1", but for most people I think it means to make sure the "IBM Cognos TM1" service is off if you will be using regular TM1Web(PASS).

Since http://<web server>:9510/tm1web/Contributor.jsp did not fail completely, I'm thinking that the "IBM Cognos TM1" service is running.

    Look at this

Install and configure TM1 Web on Microsoft Windows These steps describe how to install TM1 Web on a separate computer that is running Microsoft Windows. These steps apply when you are using the provided WebSphere® Liberty application server.

    Thank you all,

There's so many components and jargons it gets confusing. Many of those components seem to overlap functionalities.

Indeed, as mentioned by Walter, need to install TM1 Web as a separate service "IBM Planning Analytics Spreadsheet Services" and then change the port.

    Thanks again!

    Hello,

Did you modify the bootstrap file as indicated in the documentation ? Is the old service stopped ? Did you use ssl wich need configuring certificat ?
