Cognos Analytics

Hi,

I have a folder with dashboards and stories in My Content that I would like to share with another user of my team. I followed this tutorial (Setting permissions for content), but the folder didn't appear to the person I shared.

My question is, how to make the folder I shared appeared in the contents of the chosen person?

Hi,

I have same problem and no one has found any solution yet... Setting the permissions to full for all folders and content, than sharing it causes a pop up message on the other person screen: "Unable to load requested view. Displaying home view Instead.".

I have no clue why it happens. Would be great if someone figured it out.

To what somebody told me this issue appears only for non administrative users or users without sufficient rights on the specific Cognos server.

Unfortunately, they give us the tool which we can't cooperate with...

Hi Diego,

you cannot directly Share the folder inside you My content. it will never allow other users to view your My content. Only Cognos Admin will be able to access your folders/reports inside the My content.

To share with other users.
Cognos admin should create a common folder called "Share" which everybody will have access then you can copy your folder from My content to "Team Content > Share" location and tell the other user the folder name you have copied and ask them to copy it from "Team Content > Share" lcoation

Hi everyone,

The My content folder is meant for personal content and the Team content folder is what would be used for sharing content with other users in your Cognos environment. Giving someone permission to content in your My content folder wouldn't help as they can't reach that location .

If you have sensitive content you want to share with a few members, you can create a new folder in the Team content folder and from the properties of the folder, modify the permissions and only give those users access to it. Here is the documentation that walks over how you can set permissions for content.
