Thank you Peter for that great pointer. I spent some time creating custom themes and they look pretty decent.
Is there any plan (besides
this RFE) to support adding or changing themes?
Is there more documentation on what is in the defaultTheme.json that would make it easier to roll your own?
Is there a way to add labels to new Themes?
And for those who dare: there is also .css that needs editing/overruling in two main.css files:
bi/dashboard-analytics/css/main.css
copied from bi/dashboard-core/main.css
Lastly, I found 1 palette that uses patterns, unfortunately this does not work in the standard palettes yet, only in the conditional ones. (And where in Dashboard are these conditional palettes used? ) We have quite few colors to choose from in our design guidelines and
being able to use patterns would be really helpful.
Rgds,
Reinier

Hi
When authoring a visualization and no color palette is specified, we will by default pick the first palette from palette.json file.
Dashboarding uses defaultTheme.json for it's default system palette.
If if you change these you should be set to go

Hello Reinier,
I tried modifying a few different template files for dashboards, but I was not able to make the dashboard use my default template.
If I do come across away of doing this in the future, I'll be sure to post it back to this thread.

Hi Denny,
Did you find a similar unsupported feature for dashboards?

Hey Peter,
There is an unsupported approach to change the default palette colors. Navigate to your <Cognos_Install>\webcontent\bi\common and edit the file palettes.json. (Be sure to make a backup copy of the file) Locate colorPalette0 (should be at the top of the file) these are the default colors used for visualization in reporting.
I'm also checking to see if there are a similar set of steps to change the default colors for visualizations used in a dashboard.

Hey Peter,
This functionality is not available out of the box. I would suggest logging an RFE (Request Functional Enhancement)
I will do a bit of investigation to see if we can control the default palette via a file modification.
Details on logging an RFE can be found here - https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21998358

Hi
in 11.1.1 we have the option to create a global color palette as admin. I want to set one of those as default for all viz create in the future. So I have to change the palette every time. Is this possible? Or do I have to edit some to change the IBM default palette to my colors?
