    I would like to save cognos output into directly SharePoint portal. please advise me if anyone have any idea on this.

    Hi Rajitha,

    I'm not sure this is possible,  however you can save the output in Cognos and embed it in SharePoint portal or add a link to it from within SharePoint.

    or build your own powershell to copy it into sharepoint.

    - I don't want to use file system option and script to transfer output to SharePoint.
     if anything we can do directly to SharePoint portal that would be great help on my requirement.

    ​Hi Rajitha, depending on what version of Share Point you are, in some versions you can set up Share Point folders to allow posting from e-mail. You can then set a custom e-mail for the folder and just e-mail the report as an attachment.

    Hi rajitha, this should be possible.

    I have used BO earlier where the scheduled reports were sent to SharePoint and gets updated everyday.

    All it needs is a Target SharePoint email address in your recurring schedule or your adhoc schedule.

    Although, I have not tried this personally with cognos, but this should be achievable with cognos when you give the same email address of SharePoint.

    Unfortunately, I could not check this for you now because I don't have access to that SharePoint site any more.

    You can schedule the report and deliver it as a saved file into file system (option when scheduling the report)... render as html, excel or pdf format or as "active report" even (if interaction is desired)... this will allow SharePoint to always display the same "file"/report from the file system (server/network location). This "file"/report gets updated/refresh each time cognos schedule run. Hope this helps!

    did you try the option that I have mentioned below. 

    chose email as your destination. and this email address should be address of the sharepoint website. 

    check with your sharepoint admin for the email address if you dont know one.

    Cognos users need write access, *** Note : File should not be opened when cognos trying to write a file.. it may cause failure.....

    1. If running, stop the IBM Cognos service.
    2. Start IBM Cognos Configuration.
    3. Click Actions > Edit Global Configuration.
    4. On the General tab, select Alias Roots, click inside the value field, click the edit button, and when the Value - Alias Roots dialog box appears, click Add.
    5. In the Alias root name column, type a unique name for your file system repository.

    Hi ,

    I hope you already configured folder on dispatcher.


    Next: make sure you have write permission to Cognos account which writes the files (ex: cognosadmin having access to folder )

    when you run report select the folder where you want to write. let me know if this is not working .

    Are you getting any error ?
