  • 1.  Dashboard 2 drill thru reports, 1 works fine the other say 'No Data Available' ?

    Cognos 11.0.11 Dashboard.

I've got several drill thru reports set up.  All work fine with exception to 1.
When I log on as a test user and drill thru from a graph to the report, it returns data.
When a user tries, it returns 'No Data Available'.  I've checked all the properties, the access rights.  I'm at a loss as to what's causing this.

Anyone else experience this issue and find the resolution?

    Thank you,
    Jen

@Jenifer Broughton My guess would be there is data level security set at the database or in the package that is restricting access to a certain set of users or groups. I would suggest investigating both the package and database to see if there is data level security setup.

    Hi Jenifer,

this is not a general topic, so far you have to look at it individually.

To enclose the problem one advise would be to show the parameter values in the target report. So create layout calculations with "paramvalue"-function for every parameter existing in the target report and show them in the report output.

So you can see if the correct parameters and expected parameter values are transported from dashboard to report. Then open the report / let your user open the report directly and enter the identical parameters in the prompt dialogues. If the outcome is also an empty report / data not available, the select-statement for this user with this parameter combination ends up in... no data. From thereon, investigate further (wrong selections, missing data in database, security in data model...).

Thank you for the input and ideas.  I starting on this tactic on Friday with some success.
