  • 1.  Share Menu not working for Folder

    Hi All,

    I observed when sharing path using Share Menu, option is not working only for Folder. For any other report, Dashboard, data module, it's working fine.

    Are there different functions for different Object link creation?
    Is there any way to troubleshoot above issue?

    Hi Buddhi.  Could you elaborate on exactly what you're trying to do?  Doing a "Share" from the content navigator on a folder and then copying the URL from the "Link" tab seems to be working for.  That gives me a link that opens up the home page and expands the content navigator to show the selected folder.

    Hi Buddhi

    We've recently upgraded from 11.0.12 to 11.1.5 and I get exactly the same behaviour as you're seeing in our 11.1.5 environment. 

    The Share menu option does not bring up the share path for folders, although 'Share' is still in the options it now does nothing. It previously worked fine. 

    It still works for reports and dashboards. Less convenient when trying to get a user to a folder though!

    I think, it's missing some configuration since in other CA 11.1.6 Environment, Folder share link is working. 

    Where it's a complete new install, probably it's not working but when it is over the top install from CA 11.1.3, this option is working.

    Hi guys,

    We tested this internally and hit the same bug in 11.1.5. It is logged and we will be fixing it so this should go back to normal behavior in a future Cognos release.

    If you require this in your 11.1.5 environment, I would recommend logging a support case and we can look at back porting it based on the urgency.
