  • 1.  URL Protocol for IOS APP

    Hi,

Hope this is the right group, I am trying to add Cognos to our App Protection data exemption policy's for Intune. One of the requirements is the URL protocol for the app I have looked through the documentation and cant seem to find it. Has anyone done this before or have the required URL protocol to hand ?

    Many Thanks

    Neil

Hi Neil, just wondering if the posting by Microsoft (LuDai MSFT - 0289) resolved your issue.  I read their comments on your issue, and saw that they referred you back to IBM for a resolution (docs.microsoft.com).  I'm interested in knowing how it worked out.  If you have time, please drop me a note.  Thanks!

    Sincerely,

    Yvonne

Certainly! It sounds like you're trying to configure an App Protection policy in Microsoft Intune and you need to specify the URL protocol for Cognos to exempt it from certain data protection measures.

To find the URL protocol for Cognos, you may need to consult the documentation provided by IBM, the company behind Cognos. Typically, the URL protocol for an application is something like "http://smartplayapk.me/" or "https://smartplayapk.me/", but in the case of Cognos, it might have a specific protocol or URL scheme that it uses.

You could also try reaching out to your IT department or the team responsible for managing Cognos within your organization. They might have the information you need or be able to assist you in configuring the App Protection policy correctly.

If you're unable to find the specific URL protocol for Cognos, you could consider using wildcard exemptions in your policy. This would exempt any URLs associated with Cognos from the data protection measures specified in the policy. However, this approach might not be as targeted or secure as specifying the exact URL protocol.

Once you have the necessary information, you can then add the appropriate URL protocol to your Intune App Protection policy to exempt Cognos from the specified data protection measures.
