  • 1.  How to ad-hoc generate 1 page in PDF in Cognos 11.0.x

    Posted Fri June 25, 2021 12:36 PM
    A few months ago we upgraded from Cognos 10.2.2 to 11.0.x. In the prior version if we had a multi-page report we could just right-click on the page and have it generate in PDF format if that was the last format option we chose. It appears in 11.0.x though that we can no longer ad-hoc generate specific pages in PDF format, only HTML. The only solution to this that I've found is to temporarily delete all of the other pages from the report so that I can run the whole report (with just the 1 page left) in PDF format. Is this really the only way to do this now or am I overlooking something easier?

    Thank You!

    Hi Brad,
    unfortunately my latest knowledge is, that this feature has not been included into the new UI. A lot of other Cognos users are waiting for years for this fetarue to come back.

    @Brad Chance As of 11.1.7, you can run individual pages. More details can be found here - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.1.0?topic=reporting-running-single-page

    @DENNY NAREZNY thanks for the post. I knew that this feature should be there in 11.1.x but never found it.
    Now I know the reason why: the icon is missing and therefore we've never seen the menu:

    @Robert Dostal -  Not a problem.

    Odd that the icon is missing. If you are using a webserver, can you test against the dispatcher? I'm going to check on my system to see where this icon is being loaded from.

    @DENNY NAREZNY it's the same issue with the dispatcher accessed directly. I also looked at our R11.2 installation: the icon is there. All fine.

    It's only with R11.1.7 - might be an issue due to customizing some icons for Analysis Studio.

    When you upgraded, was it an over-the-top install, or did you install from scratch? I've seen a few cases of missing icons with over-the-top installs.

    Hey @Paul Mendelson it was an over-ther-top installation. The last fresh install I can remember was Cognos 10.2.1.
