Modeling in Workbench

If you're a new user of Planning Analytics Workspace, try these materials to build your expertise and learn how to model in the Workbench environment.

The tutorial's flow is designed to help a financial user build an Income Statement multi-dimensional cube, based on the Chart of Accounts and the organization's structure.
Workbench Tutorial
For the experienced users who are modeling in Architect or Perspectives use the additional benefits of workbench such as search in the data tree or update multiple TI processes with the same ODBC data source connection configuration simultaneously (2.0.69).

Note that the modeling workbench is only available in Planning Analytics Workspace new experience. You cannot use the modeling workbench in Planning Analytics Workspace Classic.

Planning Analytics Workbench - https://ibm.box.com/s/huwfe1bgrfdai8i8y0riehtauo5ng340

I have created this link on Workbench. I welcome input from BPs and Clients around how they are using Workbench and/or the gaps they see with adoption of workbench as part of modeling with Planning Analytics.

Great sugestions, George, will try to include the coverage.

Thinking about Picklists, two things come to mind:
1) Using Picklist cubes against your }ElementAttribute cubes to make updates of manually maintained attributes more efficient and controlled.
2) Making use of the little known StoreAlias modifier to allow you to specify a subset with an alias in the Picklist but store the principal name.

For rules, may be worthwhile highlighting the use of Regions to allow code to be collapsed or expanded for readability.
May also be worthwhile pointing out when to use the dimension name before a member to fully qualify the member to avoid ambiguity.

Will add to this if I think of more useful ideas.

Thank you, George, I'm planning on adding the part two course to cover the string type on the cubes, picklists, and rules. If you have the areas to stress in Modeling I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Good primer for those new to modelling in PAW and working with workbenches.
