Coming soon - don't miss it: SAP on IBM i Webcast "Inject More Security into your IBM i SAP servers", April 8, 2026

By Wera Stoeckel posted Wed March 25, 2026 04:02 AM

Both SAP and IBM are closely monitoring all available sources of information to warn users of their software about newly discovered vulnerabilities and provide fixes as soon as possible. However, systems are not only at risk because of programming flaws. Incorrect security settings and careless granted authorities can also impact the security of systems negatively.

In the this SAP on IBM i webcast, IBM Senior Technical Staff Member and Db2 for i architect Scott Forstie will show how to use Db2 for IBM i SQL services to quickly identify potential security vulnerabilities. Example queries to examine user, object and command authorities for concerns are explored. Additionally, there are examples of how to check auditing settings of key commands that an attacker might use and whether your library lists are exposed. Christian Bartels, who works in the SAP on IBM i development team, will then comment on some of the typical findings for an SAP environment.

The webcast is scheduled for April 8th, 2026, at 4 pm CEST, 10 am EDT, 7:30 pm IST. Please visit the website at ibm.biz/SAP_on_IBM_i_Webcast to register for the webcast. In reply, you will receive a calendar entry to your email address with all the information that you need to join the webcast.

As usual, questions are welcome during the session. Some general Q&A time is also reserved at the end of the webcast for general questions and for your suggestions about possible topics for future webcasts.

If you can’t make the live session, a replay will be made available for registrants.
