October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. It’s a great time to focus on the basics.

Cybersecurity starts with awareness and each of us should take this to heart in this new digital age we live in.

Cybersecurity is critical because it protects all categories of data from theft and damage. This includes sensitive data, personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI), personal information, intellectual property, data, and governmental and industry information systems. We all play a part in keeping ourselves and organizations cyber-safe. Our General Manager of IBM Security, Mary O'Brien, has penned a blog about this very topic to commemorate cybersecurity awareness month and it is always a good reminder of how we can do our bit on a personal and professional level.

A few good reminders:

-Watch out for phishing emails/scams
-Create super strong passwords
-Take caution when sharing confidential data (Remeber the community is a public domain!)

Stay cyber safe!

P.S. Join us on October 27th for a fun and informative panel with Mary O'Brien, GM IBM Security, and Seth Dobrin, IBM Chief AI Officer, as they discuss the way that IBM approaches cybersecurity, both within our organization and when supporting our clients
