Control who has access to the PA Assistant with the PA Assistant Capability

With the launch of Planning Analytics Workspace 2.1.16 / 3.1.3, we delivered the ability for administrators to control the Planning Assistant at a user capability level. This allows environment administrators to lock access on a user basis, granting it proportionally for select users based on license entitlement.

To manage capabilities for a user:

  1. Open Planning Analytics Administration as an environment or a subscription administrator.
  2. Click the Users and groups tile.
  3. Click the Users tab.
  4. Select the user for whom you want to manage capabilities.
  5. Click the Capabilities tab

As an environment/subscription administrator, simply enter the Users and Groups section of Planning Analytics Administration. Select the user you want to configure the Planning Analytics Assistant for and under the Capabilities section you will find the ability to enable/disable the Planning Analytics Assistant via the capability toggle.

By default, the Planning Analytics Assistant will be disabled for users until enabled by an administrator. Environment and subscription administrators can also delegate the ability to enable the assistant for other administrators by toggling “Capabilities access” in Planning Analytics Administration as seen in the image below.

Only those users that are administrators and/or have the Planning Analytics Assistant capability turned on can access the generative AI features of the Planning Analytics Assistant.
