Overview
We are pleased to announce the release of IBM DevOps Deploy 8.2.1 (2026.03).
IBM DevOps Deploy is an application-release solution that infuses automation into the continuous delivery and continuous deployment (CI/CD) process and provides robust visibility, traceability and auditing capabilities.
This release includes significant enhancements to OpenID Connect configurations which brings automation and assistance in migration from LDAP or Active Directory to OIDC. It also includes a new read-only view of IBM DevOps Deploy team-based security settings which has been a common request from our customers. We have also added new recurrence patterns to support Week Days and Hourly deployment schedules. Mainframe deployments continue to be a very important feature of IBM DevOps Deploy and we have added new features to enhance our customer's experience with the solution.
Enhancements in DevOps Deploy 8.2.1
Version 8.2.1 includes the following enhancements:
Feature Title
Description
New Scheduled Deployment Recurrence Pattern support for “Week Days”
Deployment scheduling now supports scheduling deployments using a recurrence pattern for “Week Days” which is Monday through Friday.

This will schedule this deployment to occur on Monday through Friday and avoid the weekend as shown below in the Calendar view:

See Scheduling deployments for more information.
Added automation for OIDC authorization realms
The OIDC authorization realm is added to support the following vendors:
- Microsoft Entra ID: Uses OIDC Access Tokens to dynamically assign user groups in Deploy
- Okta: Facilitates automatic user-to-group associations

As you create your Authorization Realm, you can now select the OIDC authorization realm as shown below:

This enables automation for group mappings to Roles in IBM DevOps Deploy.
See Creating an OpenID Connect authorization realm for more details.
Added permission to provide a read-only view of team-based security configurations
Added the “View Security” permission to allow read only access to the team-based security configuration in IBM DevOps Deploy. This new permission separates the ability to view security settings from the Settings Tab permission, which now only controls UI visibility.

This would allow an internal auditor to view the configuration without having ability to change any of the settings.

See Permission reference for more information.
Enhanced session security setting for ‘Maximum Login time (hours)’
You can now enforce user logoff by using the ‘Maximum Login time (hours)’ setting found in System Settings under ‘Security’. This setting enforces re-authentication after a fixed duration, regardless of user activity and overrides the standard session cookies.

See Enforcing a maximum login duration for more details.
Enhanced silent installation
You can now define the tomcat.keystore.password parameter within the install.properties file. This parameter allows the installer to automatically populate the secured-installed.properties during silent installation.
See Server installation properties for more information.
Internationalization of the Deployment Genie response
The Deployment Genie feature now displays responses from the AI LLM in the user’s localized target language.
Here is an example in French:

See Performing AI analysis on failed deployments.
Enhanced OIDC authentication realm
OIDC authentication realm now supports custom username Claims in non-platform mode. Additionally, you can now define additional scopes and include hint tokens within the end-session URL. These settings help in migrating from LDAP to OIDC-only setups while maintaining user history and consistent naming conventions.

See Creating authentication realms for more information.
New Scheduled Deployment Recurrence Pattern support for “Hourly”
Deployment scheduling now supports an hourly recurrence pattern for frequent release cycles.

See Scheduling deployments for more details.
Added security updates
Updated Apache Tomcat to 9.0.115
Container updates
For those looking to make the journey to containerization where the DevOps Deploy Server is installed in a OpenShift or Kubernetes cluster, the following updates were made to support our container deployments:
- Removed support for PowerPC 64-bit Little Endian (ppc64le) and s390x container images.
- The tomcat-server.xml file no longer persists after the Deploy server upgrade.
- Upgraded the Deploy server’s auto-provisioned database to MySQL v8.4 to ensure long-term compatibility and performance.
- Resource YAMLs for Persistent Volume Claims (PVC) now include logic to prevent the recreation or modification of existing volumes.

Mainframe Enhancements
With the DevOps Deploy 8.2.1 release, we also provided the following new enhancements to help our z/OS customers:
Feature Title
Description
Added pagination for z/OS Search results in the Reports view
Pagination ability has been added to the bottom of the z/OS Search results page when searching for a File Name or a Version Name as shown below:

See Deployment reports for more details.
Ability to download z/OS Search results
Your z/OS search results can now be downloaded in a CSV format enabling the ability to share with teammates easily. To do this, click the download button highlighted in green below:

See Deployment reports for more details.
Support for JCL submission in parallel
Updated the zOS Utility plugin to support submission of JCL jobs in parallel.
Added Run in Parallel option to Submit Job step to submit all jobs first and then wait for each job to complete instead of submitting and waiting for each job. This option is helpful when there are multiple independent jobs to submit and wait for in the process.
See version 103 of the plugin found here: Overview | DevOps Plugins.
Linked version update to introduce upload and download capabilities
Added the ability to download and upload linked versions in Codestation from the web console.
