Introducing z/VM dashboards in IBM Z OMEGAMON Web UI

IBM Z OMEGAMON Web UI now includes OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux dashboards, delivered through a modern, Grafana-based interface. With this, monitoring and managing z/VM environments is now simpler and more intuitive. The starter dashboards provide clear, real-time visibility into z/VM system performance and health, helping you identify issues faster and focus on what matters most.

You can now access z/VM dashboards directly within IBM Z OMEGAMON Web UI. By leveraging Grafana’s visualization capabilities, the new dashboards present performance data in an easy-to-read graphical format, enabling faster analysis and decision-making.

Starter dashboards

The following examples show a subset of the starter dashboards included with IBM Z OMEGAMON Web UI:

These dashboards are designed to be used as-is or customized to meet your specific monitoring needs.

How to get started

To begin using the z/VM dashboards, download the following components from IBM Fix Central:

• IBM Z OMEGAMON Web UI (OMEGAMON_WEB_UI_2.1.0.tar.gz)
• OMEGAMON Dashboard package (Latest available package, for example, OMEGAMON_Dashboard_2.1.0_2026-04-30.tar.gz)
• Open-source Grafana distribution (IBM‑provided, LC28-3628-00-Grafana_OSS_12.1.1.tar) - required if your environment does not allow Grafana to run outside IBM Z. This Grafana distribution can run on:

o   IBM Linux on Z

o   IBM Z Container Extensions (zCX)

This ensures you can deploy the dashboards while staying aligned with your platform requirements.
