The latest August 14, 2026, Fix Pack 3 (APAR OA69656) update to IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for CICS® introduces several enhancements that make monitoring and troubleshooting more efficient, more intuitive, and more actionable. These improvements help you gain deeper visibility into CICS activity and respond to issues with greater speed and in confidence.
Faster abend analysis with summarized insights
The CICS Dumps and Abends Summary panel now shows summarized abend activity grouped by abend code, transaction ID, and program. The summary includes counts since statistics reset and during the last 60 minutes, making it easier to identify recurring or recent issues. You can sort the summary rows and navigate directly to related task history or Abend Summary views. The details for each recorded abend are available until the CICS region restarts, the OMEG RECYCLE command runs, or up to 1 MB of abend data is collected.
Access this panel from the CICS Resources panel by opening more options with M, selecting D for CICS Dumps and Abends Summary, then navigating to the final subpanel for CICS Transaction Abend Details.
For the desired abend code, you can open a filtered CICS Abends Summary workspace or the CICS Task History Summary workspace from the Options menu.
In the Abends Summary workspace, press S on an abend entry to open the Abend Details panel for that task. You can navigate to task history for a selected abend by pressing O on the entry to open its related Task History record.
Faster access to common CICS functions
This release also introduces direct alias commands for commonly used CICS monitoring and administration screens. From CICS-level panels, you can enter commands such as AIDS, DB2C, or STORAGE without extra navigation.
To view the available commands, from any CICS level panel, enter the command: V.A. The system displays all available direct commands with their descriptive labels.
In busy support environments, these shortcuts can reduce time spent moving between tasks.
A unified view of CICS and Db2 application trace data
The new Combined tab in the CICS Task Application Trace workspace unifies CICS and Db2 trace events into one chronological view.
When Db2 ATF tracing is enabled and the required trace dataset and accounting token are available, the Combined tab merges CICS and Db2 events by timestamp so you can follow end-to-end task activity in a single display. Context switches are clearly marked with a Switch Context line whenever execution moves between CICS regions or between CICS and Db2, making component boundaries easy to identify.
If Db2 tracing is not available, the Combined tab is omitted, and standard CICS trace data is shown.
Access the Combined tab from the CICS Task Application Trace workspace, select the task for which you want to view trace data, and then select the Combined tab.
Plexwide trace visibility across related regions
The new Plexwide tab adds a broader view of trace data across the CICS regions involved in a unit of work. This makes it easier to follow activity across related regions and correlate events in a single display, even when only one region is involved. For complex transaction flows, this added perspective can accelerate root cause analysis.
To access the Plexwide tab, from the CICSplex Regions Summary, enter letter O next to the selected CICS region. Select a task from the Transaction ID column to navigate to the Task History Detail. Then, double-click the Trace active, in the Details tab, to navigate to the CICS Task Application Trace panel and select the Plexwide tab.
Seeing the certificate behind secure connections
IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for CICS now displays the 32‑character TCP/IP service certificate label from the key ring used during the SSL handshake. This makes it easier to confirm the certificate in use and troubleshoot secure connection issues with greater precision.
To see this certificate label, open the IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for CICS TCPIP services workspace, locate and open the service’s detail view in the TCPIP services summary, and view the Certificate label sub-panel to see the certificate label. The label is also shown in the TCPIP services summary and the Find Port display. You can verify the certificate label without logging in to CICS.
Save transaction rate display in IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for CICS
In IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for CICS, transaction rates are shown per minute by default. Now you can switch to transactions per second from the All Active CICSplexes or CICSplex Regions Summary panel by entering OPTIONS command and then save your change using Save button. The selected rate is saved until it is changed back to transactions per minute.
