New Release: What’s New in Business Automation Insights 26.0

By Poornima Sekhar posted 06/26/26 07:16 AM

We’re excited to share the latest updates in Business Automation Insights 26.0.0. This release brings several enhancements across analytics, visualization, deployment flexibility, and platform infrastructure - all aimed at making it easier to explore your data and manage your environments more efficiently.

Let’s take a look at what’s new.

1. Smarter analytics in Business Performance Center

New aggregation types: Standard deviation and Variance

We’ve expanded aggregation support in Business Performance Center with two new statistical functions: Standard deviation and Variance.

These additions help you better understand how data values are distributed and how much they vary from the average — giving you richer analytical insights beyond traditional aggregations like Sum and Average.

Whether you're analysing operational trends or identifying inconsistencies in business metrics, these new aggregations provide more context for decision-making.

2. Customize chart colour palettes

Charts are now more customizable.

You can now define and manage your own colour palettes for supported chart types directly from the Visualization tab while editing a chart. This makes it easier to align dashboards with team preferences, accessibility needs, or organizational branding.

3. Clickable URLs in charts and tables

Working with references and external resources just got easier.

Descriptions in charts, goals, and data tables now automatically detect HTTPS URLs and display them as clickable links in tooltips and table cells. No more copying and pasting URLs manually.

4. Clear all alerts in one step

We’ve simplified alert management by adding a Clear all button to the Alert pane.

You can now remove all existing alerts with a single click, making cleanup faster and easier.

5. Filter dashboards by monitoring source

Finding the right dashboard is now more intuitive. You can now filter dashboards based on the monitoring sources they use, including both system-defined and user-defined monitoring sources. This gives you better visibility into how dashboards are built and where their data comes from.

Shape 6. Expanded Group by support

The Group by function now supports additional data types, including:

  • Date

  • Integer

  • Long

This enhancement opens up more flexible grouping and reporting possibilities across your datasets.

Shape

7.Expanded deployment flexibility

GKE support is now available

Business Automation Insights can now be deployed on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

With this addition, Business Automation Insights now supports multiple CNCF-aligned platforms, including:

  • OpenShift®

  • Rancher

  • VMware Tanzu

  • GKE

This gives teams more flexibility when choosing deployment environments that fit their cloud-native strategies.

8. Compliance and usage visibility

IBM Usage Metering Service integration

Starting with this release, Business Automation Insights includes built-in integration with the IBM® Usage Metering Service (UMS), which is enabled by default. UMS helps organizations track product usage and maintain licensing compliance by automatically collecting and periodically sending usage metrics to IBM Software Central (SWC). Administrators can easily enable or disable usage metering through the Business Automation Insights custom resource configuration. The collected metrics include storage usage, event volumes by capability, monitoring source counts, dashboard and chart usage statistics, and average event size, along with deployment metadata such as version, platform, and architecture. Usage data can also be accessed locally through REST APIs for reporting and dashboarding integrations, including tools such as IBM License Service Reporter (LSR).

9. Infrastructure updates

Apache Flink upgraded to 1.19

This release upgrades Apache Flink from version 1.18 to 1.19.

The update brings the latest platform improvements and helps keep Business Automation Insights aligned with the evolving Flink ecosystem.

Shape

We hope these updates make your experience with Business Automation Insights even better. As always, thank you to everyone in the community for your feedback and continued support. More enhancements are already on the way, and we’re looking forward to sharing them with you in future releases.
