We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM^® Semeru Runtime™ Certified Edition for z/OS^® v11.0.30.0, v17.0.18.0 and v21.0.10.0 (1Q26 Quarterly Update). These releases contain enhancement and fixes along with the latest security update from OpenJDK 11.0.30+7, 17.0.18+8 and 21.0.10+7 (Jan'26 CPU Update) respectively. The binaries have been made available on our standard distribution sites as on 12^th Mar 2026.

New Features and Key Contents in IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS 11.0.30.0, 17.0.18.0 and 21.0.10.0:

• This release contains features from the latest release of the Eclipse OpenJ9 project, as listed in the Version 0.57.0 OpenJ9 user documentation.
• JZOS enhancement: Enhanced comment detection in DD:STDENV statement (v17+) and Improved diagnostics for uneven quotation in DD:STDENV statement (v17+).
• OpenJCEPlus enhanced to provide PQC support (v17+).
• In Java 21 release 21.0.9.1, initiating the Java Batch Launcher and Toolkit for z/OS (JZOS) with z/OS System Management Facility (SMF) 121 from a Job Control Language (JCL) script caused an ABEND with error code S422 U0000 under CN(INTERNAL). The issue is fixed in 21.0.10.0 release.
