Introducing IBM SevOne 9.0 - Now Available
Network environments keep getting more complex - more vendors, more cloud, more device types, and more data to make sense of it all. With IBM SevOne 9.0, we've focused on making it faster and easier for your teams to onboard, monitor, and manage that complexity, without adding operational overhead. Here's a look at what's new.
Standardized Telemetry Across Your Network with gNMI
Modern networks are built on a mix of vendors, and getting consistent, real-time visibility across all of them has traditionally meant stitching together different collection methods for different platforms. IBM SevOne 9.0 changes that with new multi-vendor support for Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia via OpenConfig and gNMI. This capability is available as Public Preview in IBM SevOne 9.0.
This means you can now stream network interface data, BGP peer status, CPU and memory utilization, and process-level metrics in real time, using a single standardized approach regardless of the underlying hardware. Rather than maintaining vendor-specific monitoring configurations, your team gets one consistent, vendor-neutral telemetry model that scales cleanly as you add next-generation network hardware. The result is less time spent managing collection methods and more time acting on the data itself.
Faster, Safer Integration Management
Integrations are often the first thing your team touches when standing up monitoring for a new environment - and the last thing you want slowing you down when something needs to change. In 9.0, we've streamlined the entire integration lifecycle inside Integration Manager.
You can now delete an integration and all of its associated devices in a single step, instead of cleaning them up one at a time. Need to pause monitoring temporarily rather than tear it down completely? You can disable and re-enable integrations seamlessly, with your configuration fully preserved. We've also extended proxy support to HTTPS, configurable directly in the UI wizard, giving you more flexibility for secure connectivity. And when something does go wrong during discovery, real-time discovery logs and an “in progress” status surface failures instantly, so your team isn't left guessing about what happened or waiting to find out.
Taken together, these changes mean faster cleanup, safer integration changes, and quicker diagnosis when something goes wrong - so your team can spend less time managing the mechanics of integrations and more time using the data they provide.
Expanded Integration Coverage: Cisco Meraki & SD-WAN
This release brings meaningful updates to two of our most widely used integrations - Cisco Meraki and Cisco SD-WAN - extending visibility to more device types and deeper performance metrics.
Cisco Meraki support has been significantly expanded, now covering MG cellular gateways, MV smart cameras, and Z Series remote work devices, along with richer device metadata and LTE uplink monitoring - giving you visibility into cellular connections that are often priced per packet and easy to lose track of. On the SD-WAN side, our Cisco SD-WAN integration now includes Tunnel Monitoring, adding loss, latency, jitter, QoE score, and tunnel state data to the overlay visibility you already had, so you get a complete picture of both the underlay and overlay health of your SD-WAN fabric. And to make it easier to find and adopt these capabilities, IBM SevOne is now officially listed on the Cisco Networking App Marketplace.
Together, these updates mean more complete, more granular visibility into the Meraki and SD-WAN environments you're already monitoring today - with more device types covered and more of the performance data that matters most for troubleshooting.
Fully API-Driven Wi-Fi Configuration
For teams managing Wi-Fi at scale, manual configuration has always been one of the biggest bottlenecks. IBM SevOne 9.0 makes Wi-Fi monitoring fully API-driven: you can now enable, configure, query, update, and bulk-provision Wi-Fi monitoring entirely through the REST API.
This automates the end-to-end Wi-Fi device lifecycle and removes manual, point-and-click steps from the process. Instead of configuring devices one screen at a time, your team can provision hundreds of Wi-Fi devices with a single API call - cutting deployment time significantly and reducing the risk of human error that comes with repetitive manual setup.
More Control and Accessibility in Data Insight
We've also continued investing in Data Insight, our unified reporting and visualization experience. In 9.0, you can create and modify custom user roles with fine-grained, self-service control - so you decide exactly what different teams and users can see and do, without needing to open a support ticket to make changes. Map-to-map linking is also now available, enabling connected, workflow driven navigation between maps so users can move naturally from a high-level view down into the specific detail they need.
We've also made accessibility a priority: IBM SevOne 9.0 Data Insight is now WCAG 2.2 AA compliant, ensuring the platform is usable by a wider range of users and meets recognized accessibility standards.
Together, these updates mean more flexibility and self-service control for admins, and a more accessible experience for every user.
Flow Interface Manager, Now in Data Insight
Flow data is valuable, but it's also voluminous - left unchecked, it can consume significant CPU, memory, storage, and network resources. Flow Interface Manager helps teams keep collection focused on the traffic that matters, protecting the monitoring platform from ingesting excessive or unwanted flow data and helping conserve collection capacity.
In 9.0, Flow Interface Manager is now available directly in Data Insight, so users no longer need to swivel to NMS to see and manage their flow devices. The new FIM tab shows every device and interface exporting flow that's been discovered by IBM SevOne 9.0, along with overall and per-device collection status and device health. From here, users can allow or deny devices / interfaces to manage and limit what gets collected - all without leaving Data Insight. Note: Data Insight support for Flow Rules management is planned for a future release.
New summary cards give an at-a-glance view of total devices, interfaces, and flows per second, helping teams understand their flow usage and collection health, and make informed decisions on capacity as their deployment grows.
IBM SevOne 9.0 brings together standardized multi-vendor telemetry, streamlined integration management, expanded cloud and vendor coverage, fully automated Wi-Fi provisioning, more flexible and accessible reporting, and simplified flow device onboarding - all aimed at helping your team manage more complexity with less manual effort.
