Being recognised as an IBM Champion 2026 is a proud moment for me. What makes it even more special is that all of this happened within just one year. But my journey did not start with recognition. It started at the University of Wolverhampton when I joined the Mainframe Society out of curiosity. I simply wanted to learn something different and challenge myself.
At first, IBM mainframe technology felt difficult. Enterprise systems, COBOL, and large infrastructure looked complex. Still, I decided to stay consistent and learn step by step.
After joining the community, I secured the WAVES scholarship and attended the GSE UK Conference. Being surrounded by experienced professionals from the IBM community changed my mindset. My team participated in the Capture the Flag competition and we won. That moment gave me strong confidence and made me believe that I truly belong in enterprise technology.
Inspired by that experience, I focused even more on learning. Within three weeks, I earned the IBM Z Xplore All Star badge. That achievement showed me that dedication and discipline can bring quick progress.
Later, I enrolled in the Ignite programme in the IBM i ecosystem, where I gained practical exposure beyond theory. Soon after, I joined Essist Omikron Limited in the IBM ecosystem as a Technical Solutions Architect Intern. I started working on real enterprise solutions using Node RED, AI integration, and system design.
Through continuous learning, contribution, and community involvement, within a year I was recognised as IBM Champion 2026. For me, this title represents growth, courage, and consistency.
Everything began with one simple decision to start. If you are at the beginning of your journey, stay focused and keep learning. Growth can happen faster than you imagine.
