Building IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) Decision Services has traditionally meant days of manual work:
  • defining the domain model
  • writing the vocabulary
  • authoring rules
  • wiring up the ruleflow
  • validating it all before deployment.
We wanted to see how far AI assistance could shorten that path. The result is the ODM AI Toolkit — a set of IBM Bob tools (custom modes today, skills to come) that generate complete, production-ready ODM rules project from a natural-language description or a policy document.
From a single prompt, Bob produces:
  • XOM — the Java domain model
  • BOM with natural-language vocabulary
  • Business rules in Business Action Language (BAL)
  • Ruleflow orchestration
  • Deployment configuration
Every project is validated with the ODM Build Command and imports directly into Rule Designer — no manual cleanup required. The goal isn't to replace ODM expertise, but to remove the repetitive scaffolding so teams can focus on the decisions that matter. The repository is public under Apache 2.0, with sample projects and a fraud-detection policy example to get started.
Contributions and feedback are welcome.
