The IBM RPA Product Team is excited to announce new features and fixes in the 30.0.2 release of IBM RPA

Release Schedule:

Platform  Version Release Date
Red Hat Openshift Container Platform 30.0.2 17th Mar 2026
OnPrem 30.0.2 18th Mar 2026
SaaS 30.0.2 21st Mar 2026

IBM RPA 30.0.2 delivers enhanced automation, security, and operational efficiency. Key updates include MCP integration for AI clients, automated promotion of Projects and Bots across tenants, real-time log monitoring via Grafana, upgraded DevExpress v25, Google Drive API v3 support, improved exception handling, and selective job cancellation.

UIAgent 30.0.2 Beta is enhanced with CUGA (Computer Use Generalist Agent) AI integration, allowing business users to generate web automation flows via chat. This eliminates manual flow creation, cuts development time significantly, and enables repeatable, resilient automations, accelerating productivity and simplifying web-based automation for non-technical users.

Key Features and improvements made available with IBM RPA 30.0.2

  New features delivered in 30.0.2

  • Invoke RPA Bots via Model Context Protocol (MCP): enables seamless integration with MCP‑compatible AI clients like Microsoft Copilot, IBM Bob and IBM watsonx Orchestrate to securely discover and execute IBM RPA Bots. This brings IBM RPA capabilities directly into users’ preferred AI environments.  Take a look at this demo showing IBM RPA bot being invoked from IBM BAMOE using MCP.

  • Promote Projects Between Environments: Enables automated promotion of Bots and Projects across tenants (such as development to production) along with all dependencies, minimizing manual effort, ensuring source artifact consistency, and drastically reducing deployment time

  • Integration with Grafana: Enables real-time monitoring of bot logs across all client machines through a robust observability platform, accelerating incident detection and response.

  • Support for Google Drive v3 API's: Enables automation for files stored in “Shared with Me” folders, an essential requirement for cross-team collaboration It also delivers better performance, enhanced metadata access, and long-term platform stability.

  • Improved exception handling for RPA Bot commands: Provide richer diagnostic details and enable faster root-cause identification and optionally to continue execution after exceptions helping reduce unexpected bot interruptions.

  • Cancel Execution for Scheduled Jobs: Allows users to cancel individual bot runs from the “Upcoming Bot Runs” tab, reducing manual management while keeping schedules intact.

UIAgent (SaaS Beta)

UIAgent is available in Beta through IBM RPA SaaS with more enhancement in RPA 30.0.2. UIAgent empowers business users to create resilient, web-based automations without writing code or relying on IT support. If you are interested in a trial, enroll by using the "UIAgent integration with IBM RPA" form.

Enhancements in UIAgent Closed Beta (RPA 30.0.2)

  • Generating UIAgent flows using the AI Agent CUGA: CUGA (Computer Use Generalist Agent), an open‑source IBM Research project, is now built into UIAgent. Users simply describe the automation they want in the chat interface, and CUGA interprets the intent, analyzes the web UI, and auto‑generates a UIAgent flow that can be saved and reused This significantly reduces manual effort and accelerates web automation development.
