Transform your business productivity with AI Agents for IBM Cloud Pak for Integration. GA on March 25th, 2026

Picture the scenario. It’s a Friday afternoon, and your weekly workload is about to start hitting peak. Orders are flooding in. But something is wrong.

·      Your integration throughput is lower than usual.

·      Your IBM MQ queue depths are climbing unnaturally high.

·      API response times are climbing

·      App Connect throughput when processing updates is declining

·      Event Streams notifications are delayed

Panic is setting in for you and your team. Is this a config issue? Is the network the problem? Storage failure? A security issue? What is Kubernetes doing? You worry that the next few hours will be spent crawling through complex system logs or researching obscure commands. A nightmare as you were trying to drive strategic tasks to completion. If only you could just ask simple questions to find out what was happening in your system. If you could determine in minutes where in your system there might be a problem, and how you might fix it.

This isn’t a dream. This can now be your reality with the AI Agents in IBM Cloud Pak for Integration to be generally available March 25th, 2026.

If you have been following recent Cloud Pak for Integration product updates (by reading my blog from October 1st, 2025) you will recall that at the end of 3Q25, we delivered a set of AI Agents as a tech preview. Since then, we have reviewed these with countless customers and heard extensive feedback. The good news is over the last few months, during this preview our engineering team have been working hard on these Agents, using the latest AI models and enhancing the user experience. And in light of this progress, we are now making these Agents generally available through a fixpack for Cloud Pak for Integration 16.1.3. This means these exciting capabilities can be seamlessly integrated into your existing deployment. You can now get ready to tackle every hard challenge with additional assistance from our built-in AI.

So, what does this mean for you? The Agents are still focused on ‘troubleshooting and health-checks’. They are your on-demand experts to help keep your Cloud Pak for Integration deployment running smoothly. Instead of trawling for hours through documentation, simply ask away inside the Platform UI. “Run a health-check on my cluster”. “Why has my worker node just re-started?” Seconds later you will get a response telling you not just what has gone wrong, but how to fix it.

Within the Platform UI, multiple AI Agents are working together seamlessly when you ask a question, performing various tasks for you on demand. You don’t need to deal with any complexity. You simply ask the AI Agent in the Platform UI, and it will determine the best way to answer the question and to get the task completed.

Let’s remind ourselves of the range of capabilities:

1. Intelligent Query Handling: Take your question, distributes tasks, and compiles clear, actionable responses.

2. Documentation expert: Parses product documentation to give you a precise answer to your question, saving you from endless searching.

3. Topology Mapping: Understands resource relationships, to give you the big-picture view of your deployment.

4. Kubernetes Insights: Help you resolve potential issues quickly by providing skilled analysis.

5. Log Review: Highlight the key findings from relevant logs in seconds, saving you hours.

6. Version check: Identify and suggest fixes or version updates.

Note that these Agents don’t perform autonomous tasks for you in this release. They will not change the system or deploy anything. They purely provide you with responses to your queries, providing information to allow you to perform tasks more effectively and efficiently.

Also, as Cloud Pak for Integration is a self-managed integration platform, it is up to you as the customer to choose to deploy and use these AI Agents. But they are designed to help in the deployment, use and operation of Cloud Pak for Integration as a hybrid self-managed platform.

With AI Agents, your ‘Friday crisis’ can become a ‘Friday win’ with efficient APIs, timely integrations, and empty MQ Queues, helping your customer orders flow and your business powering ahead. This release is just the start of what we can achieve through this native inclusion of AI inside Cloud Pak for Integration.

Ready to get started boosting your productivity? If you have Cloud Pak for Integration 16.1.3 deployed on Red Hat OpenShift, then you can apply the fixpack coming out on March 25th, 2026, and agree to the updated License Terms. As these Agents use watsonx.ai SaaS then you will also need a subscription to that service. Then start making yourself more productive, and your integrations more intelligent.

Check out this blog and video by Priya Srinivasan, General Manager, IBM Software for information about not just AI Agents in Cloud Pak for Integration but additional Agents in other products such as IBM MQ, IBM App Connect and many more.
