The engineering team is excited to introduce an optional first workspace KMQSTRTF embed replacement for the MQ tab, KOBSMQ. Try out this new speedy option to see if it fits your needs.

Introducing KMQSTRTF:
The new KMQSTRTF workspace is faster to display because it does not request any information from the monitoring server or agent. This means that it does not provide the status of your queue managers.
- At the top, it provides a way to quickly type in the name of a queue manager and double-click on "Go" to immediately get to Current Queue Manager Status (KMQQMSTS) for that queue manager.
- Below that, the workspace gives a tree of the queue managers per LPAR with some information about their managed system node names and the agent monitoring them.
- The selection options for each queue manager are the same as have been provided on the default MQ tab KOBSMQ workspace.
Here’s an example of KMQSTRTF:
Note that when you fill in the blank for the queue manager name in the top part, you must double-click or press enter with your cursor on the "Go" button. Otherwise, if you just press enter, you will remain on the same workspace instead of going to Current Queue Manager Status.
The following picture shows the option list for each queue manager row listed in the tree view:
Changing to use KMQSTRTF:
After installing PTF UJ98755 for APAR OA68732, you can try the new workspace by updating the embed used for the first workspace. To make the change:
1. Go into the Edit menu and use option W for First Workspace (or enter "E.W" on the top left line).
2. Double-click on the MQ tab. Here’s an example of the workspace showing the typical setting:
3. Double-click the bullet next to "Use Custom", and type "KMQSTRTF" on the blue line to the right of the blue "Imbed" word.
4. Press enter. Note that the entire embed will not show, just the top part. Here’s an example showing the changed workspace after pressing enter:
5. Double-click on the "Save" button.
6. In the resulting popup, confirm your profile name to update, and press enter.
The MQ tab KOBSMQ will now show the new fast start workspace. If later you want to go back to the usual setting, just follow the same steps and save with the "Show Queue Managers" selected for "Imbed" KMQSTRTI.
