Who wants to poke around when investigating performance issues?   Quick navigation to your desired information is key to quick problem understanding and problem solving.   Now with IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for zOS V6.1 on the larger 62X160 screen you now have the option of an enhanced navigation set of menus in the e3270UI.

Set your first workspace for IBM OMEGAMON AI for zOS e3270UI to KM5STRTK.   And you get this nice starting dashboard for all your LPARs on all you Sysplexes with some CPU and MSU usage. Go where you need to go with a couple clicks.  The navigation groupings and TABs take you directly there.

You can start your navigation to the LPARs, Jobs, or Sysplex level right from the KM5STRTK Dashboard.   For an LPAR the KM5STRTK grouping allows view for address spaces performance,  CPU usage, Memory investigation, Workload and general zOS, LPAR IO usage plus LPAR History views.  Also the Sysplex level navigation allows WLM views, Coupling Facility, XCF, Enterprise CPC views, and Global ENQ views plus plex level HISTORY. If you want to use the older navigation menu them KM5STRTI will take you there.  Now also you can BOOKMARK your favorite workspaces to quickly return to them from the top menu level.

If you select the address space view on the LPAR level it allows investigation of all the address spaces on the LPAR.  With the TABs you can quickly get LPARs views in areas for LPAR Bottlenecks, Virtual Storage usage, Real Storage usage, Common Storage views, Unix System Service on the LPAR,  If you want to directly enter SDSF and zOS command you also have the System Programmers Toolkit.

You also can dive deeper into one address space if you put a "/" next to address space name.  You can look at that address spaces CPU use, INSPECT the CPU use,  Data Set usage by the address space, TCB level usage, and Storage usage too.

Other quick choices at the LPAR level include LPAR System CPU dashboards, LPAR Storage Utilization analysis TAB views for System overview, Common, Virtual, Real, Paging, EADM, zOS Storage alerts and System Programmers toolkit.  The LPAR Workload and other zOS grouping includes LPAR WLM,  JES Spool use, Health Checker, SMF usage and Enqueue information.

This is a quick overview of the IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for zOS product and the value of KM5STRTK on a 62X160 3270.   Grouping at the Sysplex, LPAR and Job level along with TABs and bookmarking puts you on the fast track to getting the information you are looking for.
