IBM IMS Explorer for VS Code 1.1.0 Now Available

We’re pleased to announce the release of IBM® IMS® Explorer for VS Code version 1.1.0, delivering new capabilities that further modernize IMS development directly within Visual Studio Code.

Highlights in 1.1.0

• Interactive DBD and PSB Visualizations
  Explore IMS structures through hierarchical, interactive visualizations with seamless switching between source, DDL, table, and diagram views.

• IMS Catalog Import to Projects
  Import DBDs and PSBs from the IMS catalog into IMS projects, with optional inclusion of referenced DBDs.

• Project-Based Editing
  Edit DDL and source code directly within IMS projects for a more integrated development workflow.

• Enhanced Security
  Enhanced credential handling with support for TOTP-based multi-factor authentication (MFA).

• Improved Connection Experience
  New setting allows system-level DFSC catalog files to be hidden by default. Unified frontend and backend logging simplifies diagnostics.

• Refined SQL Editor
  Improved SQL editor usability with auto-commit enabled by default for all SQL statements.

• Added a Quick Pick option to re-enter credentials when authentication failures occur.
