InfoSphere Information Server 11.7.1.6 Service Pack 3 Announcement

We're pleased to announce the availability of IBM InfoSphere Information Server (IIS) 11.7.1.6 Service Pack 3 (SP3).

Service Pack 3 represents the latest maintenance update for the 11.7.1.6 release stream and delivers important security updates, platform maintenance, and additional certification support for our customers.

Delivering Important Security and Platform Updates

As part of our ongoing commitment to product security, Service Pack 3 includes important updates related to components used throughout the Information Server platform, including Jackson and Apache Log4j.

During our assessment process, we identified that these updates affected multiple areas of the product. To simplify deployment and provide customers with a streamlined update experience, the required changes were delivered through a single, consolidated, and fully tested service pack.

In addition to the security-related updates, SP3 includes a small number of targeted product fixes and maintenance improvements.

What's Included in Service Pack 3

Service Pack 3 provides:

  • Important security updates across the platform
  • Updates related to Jackson and Apache Log4j components
  • A small number of targeted product fixes
  • Cumulative maintenance updates
  • Continued quality and stability improvements across the IIS platform

This service pack does not introduce new functional features. Instead, it focuses on strengthening existing deployments through security remediation, platform quality improvements, and ongoing maintenance.

Db2 12.1 Support

Following the release of Service Pack 2, we completed certification of IBM Db2 12.1 for use with InfoSphere Information Server 11.7.1.6. Customers can now upgrade supported Db2 11.5 repository environments to Db2 12.1 while remaining on the 11.7.1.6 release stream.
