
Working with a FlashSystem partition isn’t new, but for some people that have never created one, I thought I’d ask FlashSystem.ai to give me a little help. I want the tool to help me; I’m going to let it. What did I do first?
Well, I asked what a FlashSystem partition is, and FlashSystem.ai gave me a breakdown, as well as some of the things I’d need to consider!

It even carried on to give me some suggestions on why I’d want to use partitions which I thought was a nice touch. Check it out when you get a chance to work with it.
So, I went ahead and made my first partition on my 9200 system (thanks for the coaching and how to FlashSystem.ai) and then I asked FlashSystem.ai to list the partitions it sees on the 9200. Yes, pretty easy!

Knowing from my little tutorial above I needed some Storage Components to be added to my partition, I asked FlashSystem.ai to create a volume group for this partition. It then asked for Approval!

By the way, thank you FlashSystem.ai for naming the volume group for me: volumegroup1 (yes, I’m trying to curtain my wild naming habits, so I appreciate the help here). Also, notice one of those ‘checks’ to make sure I confirm that I want to do something. Thanks FlashSystem.ai for the “Human-in-the-loop check”. You’ll notice I can approve for all my actions for this session if I want.
Then I moved over to my new volume group and added 3 x 1TB volumes. (Yes, I could have just done this as 1 action, it would have saved me the screen shots, that’s for sure). If you’ll notice, FlashSystem.ai wanted to make sure I was being specific on my ask.

Thanks for checking FlashSystem.ai, yes use volumegroup 1 please. I skipped the approval screen shot this time.

All in all, this little exercise demonstrates a different way of interacting with enterprise storage.
