Every IBM Storage Insights release is about helping you spend less time managing storage and more time delivering value. The 2Q26 update introduces a smoother upgrade experience, richer observability, enhanced dashboards, and new analytics that help you monitor your storage infrastructure with greater confidence.

Let's explore what's new.

Analyze your entire storage fleet—not just individual systems

Performance analysis now extends across your entire storage fleet. Enhanced performance graphs help you to analyze the trends across multiple systems with flexible time range selection and provide a consistent experience with improved visualization.

Why you'll like it?

Quickly spot trends, identify anomalies, and understand performance across your environment from a single view.

Simplified upgrade to IBM Storage Insights Pro

Moving from IBM Storage Insights Free to Pro is now much more intuitive.

The new guided upgrade workflow clearly explains your current entitlement, walks you through the upgrade process, and helps you understand the additional capabilities available in Pro before you make the switch.

Why you'll like it?

  • Guided upgrade experience

  • Transparent entitlement information

  • Faster path to advanced monitoring capabilities

A smarter NOC dashboard for faster decisions

The NOC dashboard continues to evolve with a modern card-based experience that surfaces the information you need most.

The enhanced dashboard includes:

  • Real-time health and capacity insights

  • Performance deviation indicators

  • Better filtering and sorting

  • Flexible time-range selection

A brand-new Performance widget also highlights systems that deserve your attention and lets you jump directly into detailed performance analysis.

Why you'll like it?

Identify critical issues quickly with centralized health, capacity, and performance insights.

Monitor SAN switch optical transceiver health with new power metrics

Storage administrators can now monitor optical transceiver health on Fibre Channel ports on SAN switches using three new performance metrics:

  • SFP Temperature

  • SFP Tx Power

  • SFP Rx Power

These metrics provide deeper visibility into FC port health and can help identify deteriorating optics before they become service-impacting issues.

Why you'll like it?

Proactively identify optical hardware issues and troubleshoot connectivity problems faster.

Richer capacity insights for DS8000

For DS8000 Release 10.1 and later, capacity visualization has been significantly enhanced.

You can now explore:

  • IBM Z and Open Systems capacity separately

  • Compression and non-compression pools

  • Thin provisioning savings

  • Compression savings

  • Overall capacity efficiency

Why you'll like it?

Better visibility helps you optimize storage utilization and make more informed capacity planning decisions.

IBM Storage Scale System arrives in the modern UI (Technology Preview)

IBM Storage Scale System monitoring is now available as a Technology Preview through Call Home with cloud services.

You can now:

  • Monitor Storage Scale software and hardware from the modern UI

  • View inventory and configuration information from a dedicated dashboard

  • Manage file and block storage resources from one interface

Technology Preview: This release focuses on configuration and inventory visibility, with additional monitoring capabilities planned for future releases.

Why you'll like it?

A unified experience makes it easier to manage hybrid storage environments without switching between interfaces.

REST APIs Version 2 simplify integrations

Selected IBM Storage Insights REST APIs now support Version 2, making integrations cleaner and easier to build.

Version 1 APIs remain fully supported, allowing you to migrate whenever you're ready.

Why you'll like it?

Modernize your automation without disrupting existing workflows.
