On June 9th I attended Think Gov, IBMs annual technology summit for the public sector hosted at Nationals Park in Washington DC. The open corridors and scenic view of the ballpark was a refreshing change from the usual business venues and conference rooms, but the topics were just as interesting and pertinent.
For 8 hours attendees explored how AI, automation, and hybrid cloud are driving productivity in the workforce. They learned through real-world success stories how other agencies are deploying AI agents and assistants, participated in hands-on, interactive, demonstrations of IBMs latest innovations and networked with IBM exports, trusted partners, and industry leaders.
Underlying all government operations is security, and nothing spells security like the mainframe. During my session, Simplify mainframe operations with AI, I spoke on how we are simplifying the way we execute on our objectives to provide observability, optimization, and automation to all of our clients operations by enhancing our products with AI. It's not about replacing people or tools, but about increasing productivity by simplifying the way we work so that we can solve larger, more complex problems.
To show how AI could be used to enhance and simplify within our zAIOps portfolio of products I showed IBM Concert for Z and IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision demos with embedded IBM watsonx Assistant for Z agents, finishing with a demo on the latest agentic AI capabilities that are not yet available. It was very well received and clients are looking forward to seeing what our products will have to offer with this new "deep agent" capability. Building on my demo, there was a Simplifying and transforming the IBM Z Experience with agentic AI webinar that had a deeper demo of this technology by Max Weiss. I encourage you to watch the replay and let us know what you think of our strategy. Comment on this blog to let us know your thoughts!
Simplification isn't just resonating within government agencies, it's being asked for across all industries and zAIOps is answering that call. AI enabled insights help simplify your operations by adding context, prioritizing the data that really matters, helping you identify problems quicker, and automating manual tasks. As we have learned in multiple AIOps Corner podcasts, it's not about replacing anything or anyone, it's about getting a clearer picture with who and what we already have, always keeping a human in the loop. Your experienced teams can become more productive and newer employees can onboard quicker, moving your teams from reactive fire-fighting to proactive operations.
