IBM Application Modernization Accelerator (AMA) 5.0 is now available with new capabilities designed to improve enterprise modernization workflows.
AMA is IBM's modernization platform for enterprise Java applications. It provides application discovery, dependency analysis, migration planning, code transformation recommendations, and developer tooling to help organizations modernize applications to newer Java versions and modern runtimes such as WebSphere Liberty. AMA enables teams to understand their application landscape with visualizations, prioritize modernization efforts, and speed up much of the migration process. AMA is available as a component with IBM Enterprise Application Runtimes (EAR) and with IBM Modernized Runtime Extension for Java (MoRE).

Highlights include:

• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for enterprise governance with Admin, Writer, and Reader roles, workspace-level access control, and audit logging so that teams are able to securely manage data.
• Java 25 analysis support, enabling assessment of applications targeting the latest Java release with recommendations that handle migration issues so teams save time.
• Expanded MoRE integration, when modernizing to MoRE, users can now get all the details for applications that would previously have been disabled as they were considered unsuitable for MoRE.
• Access Keys enable customers to seamlessly progress from trial to enterprise modernization. Customers who have purchased EAR or MoRE will receive an Access Key through Passport Advantage (PPA) to unlock the full set of AMA modernization capabilities.

In addition, the Discovery Tool has been updated to use the latest analysis support, and multiple security enhancements have been incorporated across both IBM Application Modernization Accelerator and IBM Transformation Advisor. Lastly, the Db2 scanner has been deprecated in release 5.0.0 and is scheduled for removal in release 5.1.0
