Many IBM TRIRIGA customers are now planning their move to IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities, also known as MREF.
Before starting the actual MREF migration, one of the most important steps is to confirm whether the current TRIRIGA environment is ready.
Based on IBM’s current migration guidance, the TRIRIGA source environment must be on a supported level: IBM TRIRIGA Application Platform 4.5 or 5.0 and IBM TRIRIGA Application 11.5 or 11.6. The target environment must be Maximo Application Suite 9.1 or later, and Maximo Real Estate and Facilities Platform 9.1.2 or later must be deployed and activated during the migration.
This means application upgrade and platform upgrade planning should be treated as readiness activities before the real MREF migration begins.
The platform upgrade prepares the technical foundation, including the runtime, application server, database upgrade process, configuration, logs, security, and environment readiness.
The application upgrade prepares the business layer, including business objects, forms, workflows, reports, queries, navigation, integrations, and functional content.
Both are important because MREF migration is not only a technical move. It also impacts users, licensing, authentication, integrations, customizations, testing, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
