Whether you are in the center of modernizing your traditional architecture to the cloud, or you’re at the very beginning of that journey, digital transformation is an inevitable step for any enterprise to remain competitive in the rapid development of their industry. Connectivity to various subsystems is an integral part of digital transformation. A good connectivity solution gives you the flexibility to integrate various subsystems through the platform of your choice.  CICS Transaction Gateway products suite helps in this digital transformation by providing programming interfaces in all popular languages. You can develop applications in new language frameworks like Java, C++, Java EE, and access CICS business logic. Hence CICS Transaction Gateway has been the connector of choice for many enterprises for providing high-speed native connectivity to CICS Transaction Server for z/OS.

CICS Transaction Gateway has evolved along with the world around it. Starting as a simple CICS client, it has incorporated features like connection pooling, high availability algorithms, CICS User Exits, integration with monitoring products, etc. All this, to provide scalability and highly available connector technology for driving enterprise workloads to CICS. Many of these features have been direct ask from customers through strong RFE collaboration.

Recently we have released the latest version of CICS Transaction Gateway for z/OS, 9.3. It has been quite some time since the previous release. The reason for this long gap has been the evolution of integration strategy within enterprises, for e.g moving to new forms of integration like events, steams, APIs, etc. While the world is moving to different sorts of integration approaches, native connectivity still remains quintessential and a key ask in terms of performance, security, and optimization. CICS Transaction Gateway is used by many enterprises worldwide to provide native connectivity for CICS workloads on z/OS and distributed platforms.
