I am excited to share that IBM zCX with Red Hat OpenShift AI now enables organizations to harness Telum on-chip Accelerators and the IBM Spyre Accelerators for advanced predictive and generative AI workloads on z/OS.

This capability allows Red Hat OpenShift AI running on zCX to exploit IBM Telum and Spyre Accelerator hardware, establishing a comprehensive, enterprise‑grade AI platform on z/OS using the IBM zCX Foundation for Red Hat OpenShift

By integrating AI inferencing, predictive analytics, and generative model execution directly where the world’s most critical data resides, organizations can unlock new levels of performance, insight, and operational efficiency. AI applications can now run closer to core transactional systems, enabling tighter integration between AI-driven insights and mission‑critical business processes.

Co‑locating AI models and workloads with enterprise data on IBM z/OS using zCX helps:

  • Reduce latency by minimizing data movement
  • Accelerate time to insights for AI‑driven decision making
  • Enhance security by keeping sensitive data within the trusted IBM Z environment
  • Deliver modern AI innovation with the reliability, scalability, and resiliency of IBM Z

With Spyre support for zCX with Red Hat OpenShift AI, IBM continues to extend its commitment to AI on IBM Z—bringing accelerated AI capabilities, enterprise‑grade governance, and hybrid cloud consistency to the z/OS platform.

This milestone represents another step forward in enabling organizations to modernize, innovate, and scale AI workloads confidently on IBM Z, combining zCX, Red Hat OpenShift AI, and the IBM Spyre Accelerator into a powerful foundation for next‑generation AI solutions on z/OS.
