When I first started learning about Artificial Intelligence, I believed it was a field primarily for programmers, data scientists, and technology professionals. Coming from a non-IT background, I was unsure whether I could understand the concepts or keep pace with the rapidly evolving world of AI. Looking back, I am glad I decided to take that first step.
My AI learning journey began with AI Fundamentals, where I completed a capstone project and gained a foundational understanding of how AI can be applied to solve real-world problems. I later completed the Craft Precise Prompts for AI Models course, which introduced me to prompt engineering and the importance of designing effective instructions for large language models.
One of the most engaging aspects of the learning experience was the hands-on approach. Through practical labs, I gained a better understanding of prompt engineering and the value of creating effective prompts for AI models.
Currently, I am participating in the IBM AI Accelerator program. The AI Accelerator is a structured learning pathway that helps learners build practical AI knowledge through a series of micro-credentials. As part of my journey, I have completed Getting Started with Generative AI, Data Analytics for Machine Learning, Supervised Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing, which explores how AI can understand and work with human language. I am currently progressing through the Unsupervised Learning module. The pathway also includes AI-Enabled Applications for Customer Service, providing exposure to a broad range of AI concepts and practical use cases.
I discovered this learning opportunity while exploring ways to expand my AI knowledge through IBM SkillsBuild. The ability to learn at my own pace while gradually building skills across different areas of Artificial Intelligence was particularly valuable. As someone interested in continuous learning and career development, I appreciated having a structured pathway that made complex topics feel more approachable.
Perhaps the most important lesson I have learned throughout this journey is that AI does not have to be overwhelming. By taking one step at a time, each completed course, lab, and project has helped build my understanding, confidence, and motivation to keep learning.
For students, career changers, and anyone curious about AI, my message is simple: you do not need to know everything before you begin. Every lesson completed and every new concept explored contributes to growth.
My AI learning journey is still ongoing, and I look forward to sharing more insights as I continue learning and exploring the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence.
