This article on Qiita walks through the technical details of doing AI-driven development in RPG on IBM i: what's actually inside AGENTS.md and SKILL.md, the real prompts we sent to Bob, and how Bob behaved as it worked all the way through to compilation.
This content is based on an internal proof-of-concept — what we'd call a "Client Zero" case. We're using IBM Bob to move forward an internal project that connects our core sales management system, which runs on RPG, with a customer-facing web portal built in Python.
One important caveat: as of this writing, the portal renewal project itself hasn't actually launched yet — development is still ongoing. So what this article shares isn't a "we launched it successfully" success story. It's a record of something more modest but still meaningful: that the AI-driven development approach genuinely worked in a real RPG environment.
