Reuse Activity in Blueworks Live

Hey all,

I am new to BWL and trying to use it for various modeling activities. I am faced with a situation where I have to create Geo based variants of my Global process.

The requirement here is that, some activities from the Global Process are same in Geo's and hence I want to reuse the activities in the Geo's.

Option 1: If I copy the activity than it is another item in the database and hence any changes made to the original copy does not reflect in the Geo copy.

Option 2: I cannot make the activity as a linked process as it is still an activity and not a process by itself.

Is there an option wherein I can resuse an activity across multiple processes and if I change an activity at any of these places, it automatically gets changed at all places.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
KM

Your option 2 would exactly do that. You can link to a process that consists of this one activity (or make the activity a sub process and then convert to a linked process). It might be only one activity now, but could potentially change into a more complex step with multiple activities in future. You would always get the latest version of that in all processes that include that link.
As a bonus you get another abstraction layer, that allows you to call that linked sub process (with the activity) and the responsible role in context of the main process.
