  • 1.  How to extract the hostname from the Server ID column in ILMT HW reporting?

    Under the HW reporting, there is a column called Server ID which has the vendor name and hypervisor host servername as well See samples below.

    I need to know how to extract the host servername into a separate column in the report.

    Suggestions?

    Via Configure --> Configure View --> DNS Name

    It should give you the details you need.

    Thanks for the suggestion but it does not answer my question. The DNS Name column contains FQDNS name of the actual "Computer Name" column. If you check the Server ID column in your lab environment, this column should have the "vendor host servername" format information. See examples below. I need to find a way to extract the host servername portion into a new column called "Hypervisor Servername" something like that.

    The only column options are the ones currently available via "Configure View".

    There are options to change what is displayed under "Server ID" but there is not an option to extract some of the data from that column to a new one: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/license-metric-tool?topic=settings-advanced-server#r_admin_parameters_in_database__server_template

    Server ID

    Identifier of the server. The format of the identifier is specified by the managedServerTagTemplate parameter for hosts from which data is collected by the VM Manager Tool or by the Run Capacity Scan on Virtualization Hosts fixlet or by the standaloneServerTagTemplate parameter for the remaining hosts.
