    Hi Folks,

I work as a Corporate Records Analyst for the Provincial Government in Nova Scotia. Currently, we use IBM's FileNet (Enterprise Records) as the software solution to manage electronic records. In the RM world, IBM is not a significant player (compared to Microsoft and other third party vendors), and very few RM/IM forums dedicate focus on their own experiences & usage of IER. Subsequently, I'm having a hard to time finding a community of individuals who use the system and troubleshoot issues together.

How many folks here use Enterprise Records to manage electronic records? What resources do you use to configure and understand the system? I found a document from 2009 named IBM Enterprise Records Performance Best Practices, but that's fairly dated. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Doyle.

    Hi Doyle,

I am a Records Manager and have been using IER for a number of years and can help answer any questions you may have. Also, there is a  IER User Group that meets throughout the year. The next IER User Group meeting will most likely happen in January.

The recording of the Q1 meeting from this year is posted here, I'm not sure what happened with the Q2 or Q3 recordings, but we also had an in person meeting at the IBM TechXchange conference.

If you have specific questions Doyle, this forum is a great place to ask them!

I usually rely on the core documentation, I know it sometimes feels old, but IER is a pretty stable product and hasn't changed a ton. There are some newer features, though, that we discuss in the user group meetings.
