  • 1.  How to connect to decision center using rule designer v8.11.0.0

    Posted Wed January 19, 2022 09:49 AM

Hello, I received a new macbook with Mac OS Monterey, and I had to reinstall all my tools again.

Checking the updated doc GitHub - ODMDev/ruledesigner: Rule Designer is the Eclipse-based development environment for ODM developers.

    GitHub remove preview
GitHub - ODMDev/ruledesigner: Rule Designer is the Eclipse-based development environment for ODM developers.
This repository is the home directory of IBM Operational Decision Manager for Developers. IBM® is now hosting product images on the IBM Container Registry, icr.io. You can obtain the IBM Operational Decision Manager for Developers image without authenticating by using this IBM-controlled source: icr.io/odm-k8s.

it recommends to use the 8.11.0 version of the rule designer but when I try to connect to the decision center I always receive an error connecting.

I'm using IBM ODM on cloud, looks like the wizard to connect it doesn't exists on this new version, it was deleted?

does any one know how can I login using this new version?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

You cannot use Rule Designer from the Eclipse marketplace  to connect to ODM on Cloud , this version does not include the cloud connection feature.
ODM on Cloud is not updated yet to 8.11 so you need to continue using Eclipse 4.7.3 with the dedicated Rule Designer coming from ODM on Cloud.
The URL containing the Rule Designer for ODM on Cloud is provided in the portal of your instance.

Ok, I'll try to use that version on a VM, looks like that specific version is not running anymore on newer versions of macOS.

Do you know where can I rise a ticket to request an update?

Indeed recent upgrades of Mac  OS have broken Eclipse and Rule Designer. As you have noticed with 8.11 the support will be restablished.
ODM on Cloud should be updated to 8.11  in the coming months you can create a case with the support team to get more information about this.

A Windows virtual machine is the way to go, it will give the best experience with  Rule Designer.
