    When numbering is applied automatically, the numbering can get out of order from a left to right flow perspective.  Is it possible to do custom numbering and then have that applied in a way that if custom numbering was then turned off that the customer order would remain.  Basically, resetting the auto numbering to represent the flow desired by the user?

    There is the ability to add your custom numbering scheme, however you will have to manage this if your process flow changes. 

    You can see from this photo the option to enable Use custom numbering. You can then click on the numbers and edit them.
